Road closures, other changes announced for upcoming 2025 Lights on Rice Parade
Kaua‘i Police Department — to ensure the safety of participants and spectators — will close all streets along the route for the highly anticipated 2025 Lights on Rice Parade in Līhu‘e.
It’s just one of several temporary traffic, parking and transit changes to accommodate the annual event.

This year’s Lights on Rice Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday (Dec. 5), rolling out from Vidinha Stadium and ending at the Historic Kaua‘i County Building on ‘Eiwa Street after traveling down Ho‘olako and Rice streets.
All streets along the parade route will be closed from 5 to 8 p.m., or until the parade is finished. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and expect traffic delays in the area.
Road closures
- Ho‘olako Street (Vidinha Stadium to Rice Street).
- Rice Street (Ho‘olako Street to ‘Eiwa Street).

- Parking restrictions will also be in effect from 4:30 p.m. to midnight at the county building and nearby state office parking lots from 4:30 p.m. to midnight to accommodate parade floats.
