12 lane closures scheduled during week of Nov. 22-28 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 12 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of Nov. 22-28.

NOTE: In observance of Thanksgiving, there will be no contraflow or lane closures Nov. 27 unless otherwise permitted.

HIGHWAY 50

ʻŌMAʻO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the southbound direction, between mile posts 8.2 and 8.3 in the vicinity of Punee Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24 for roadway borings. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 8.2 and 8.8 in the vicinity of Punee Road and Piiwai Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 24-26for striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 0.8 in the vicinity of Waʻa-pā Road and Rice Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for concrete sidewalk and curb work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

LĪHU‘E

  • RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the northbound direction, near mile post 0.5 in the vicinity of ʻEhiku Street, from 8:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 24 for Hawaiian Telcom to do maintenance on the fiber network. Traffic will be routed to the inside northbound lane.

KAPA‘IA TO HANAMĀʻULU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1.1 and 1.6 in the vicinity of Ma‘alo Road to Laukona Street, on Monday, November 24 to Wednesday, November 26 and Friday, November 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for cutting grass.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • LANE SHIFT WITH INTERMITTENT LANE CLOSURES, as needed, possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.4 and 28.1 in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for striping.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.3 and 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and the ʻŌhiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for berming and erosion control matting installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1.2 and 2.3 in the vicinity of Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant and the Hanalei bridge, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for guardrail installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

LUMAHAʻI TO HALEHOMAHA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 5.5 and 8 in the vicinity of ʻĀleʻaleʻa Road, from 8:30 to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 24-26 and Nov. 28 for cutting grass.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 4.8 in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Beach, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 24-25 for soil nail drilling and grouting. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1.2 and 5.5 in the vicinity of Pānini Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for pavement reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
