Update: Flood advisory canceled for Kaua‘i

Update Nov. 3, 2025: The National Weather Service has canceled the flood advisory for Kauaʻi, as of 12:45 a.m.

Update 7:32 p.m. on Nov. 2, 2025: A flood advisory is now in effect for Kaua‘i until 12:45 a.m.

At 6:34 p.m., radar indicated heavy rain over the entire island of Kaua‘i. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour, according to the National Weather Service in Honolulu.

Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

Update 12:49 p.m. on Nov. 2, 2025: A flood advisory on Kaua’i has been extended until 3:30p.m.

At 12:20 p.m., radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain across the island. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour, according to the National Weather Service in Honolulu.

Some locations that will experience flooding include: Līhu’e, Kapa’a, Kalāheo, Kekaha, Princeville, Kīlauea, North Fork Wailua Trails, Alakai Swamp Trails, Lawai, Omao, Kokee State Park, Wailua Homesteads, Hanalei, Hanapepe, Wainiha, Napali State Park, Koloa, Haena, Waimea and Wailua.

At 9:16 a.m., radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain over the northern side of Kaua‘i. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour, according to the National Weather Service in Honolulu.

Some locations that will experience flooding include: Līhu‘e, Kap‘a, Kalāheo, Kekaha, Princeville, Kīlauea, North Fork Wailua Trails, Alakai Swamp Trails, Lawai, ‘Ōmao, Kokee State Park, Wailua Homesteads, Hanalei, Hanapepe, Wainiha, Nāpali State Park, Kōloa, Ha‘ena, Waimea and Wailua.

Impacts include minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. River or stream flows are elevated.
