Strengthening Kaua‘i’s agriculture: County seeks proposals for 2026 farm expansion grants

Kaua‘i County Office of Economic Development is now accepting proposals for fiscal year 2026 agriculture farm expansion grants.

Funds through the Agriculture Farm Expansion Grant Program support projects that promote growth, diversification and long-term sustainability of Kaua‘i’s agricultural sector.

Eligible projects include farm expansion, development of value-added products or initiatives that improve local food security and economic resilience.

The program is aimed to strengthening Kaua‘i agriculture by helping island farms and organizations invest in growth, innovation and the food system’s future.

“The County of Kaua‘i is committed to investing in our farmers and strengthening our island’s food systems,” said Kaua‘i County Office of Economic Development Director Nalani Kaauwai-Brun in the grant application period announcement. “Through this program, we’re helping build a more self-sufficient and sustainable Kaua‘i for future generations.”

All grant proposals must be submitted online via the SMApply grants management system.

The application portal will open at 8 a.m. Nov. 3. Deadline to apply is 4 p.m. Dec. 4.

Late submissions and applications sent by mail, email, hand delivery or fax will not be accepted.

Funding decisions will be announced the week of Dec. 22, with the funding period running through Dec. 31, 2026.

Kaua‘i County Office of Economic Development will host an informational webinar at 3 p.m. Nov. 6 to assist interested applicants.
