14 lane closures scheduled during week of Oct. 26-31 on Kaua‘i state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 14 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Kaua‘i state roadways during the week of Oct. 26-31.

HIGHWAY 50

PUA LOKE

  • SIDE POCKET CLOSURE on Kaumualiʻi Highway in the southbound direction near mile post 0.5, in the vicinity of Uahi Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for waterline installation.

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kaumualiʻi Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 2.9 and 8.7, in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Piwai Reservoir, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for striping.

KAUMAKANI TO WAIMEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kaumualiʻi Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 19 and 22, in the vicinity of Kaumakani Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for cutting grass and clearing guardrails.

  • ROVING LANE SHIFT SHOULDER CLOSURE on Kaumualiʻi Highway in the westbound direction between mile posts 31 and 32.9, in the vicinity of Kia Road and Kao Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for vegetation clearing.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Nāwiliwili Road possible in either directioN between mile posts 0.0 and 0.8, in the vicinity of Waʻa-pā Road and Rice Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for concrete sidewalk and curb work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

WAILUĀ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway in the southbound direction between mile posts 5.7 and 5.9, in the vicinity of Wailuā State Park to Kuamoʻo Road, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 28 and 31 for concrete pour on Wailuā mauka bridge. There will be two southbound lanes from 6 to 11:30 a.m., one on the mauka bridge and another on the plantation bridge. A northbound lane will also be open on the plantation bridge.   • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ʻAkia Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for concrete and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 0.3 and 1.2, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for hydro-mulching, fence and guardrail installation on Hanalei Hill. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 1.2 and 2.3, in the vicinity of Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant and the Hanalei Bridge, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for guardrail installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 2 and 8, in the vicinity of ʻĀleʻaleʻa Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for cutting grass.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 4.6 and 4.8, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Beach, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for soil nail drilling and grouting. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • ROVING SHOULDER CLOSURE on Waimea Canyon Drive possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for cutting grass.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Waimea Canyon Drive possible in either direction between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for shoulder reconstruction. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 5600

KŌKE‘E

  • ROVING SHOULDER CLOSURE on Kapaʻa Bypass Road in the southbound direction between mile posts 0.0 and 0.7 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 27-31 for cutting grass. Traffic will be detoured to Kukui Street to access the Kapaʻa Bypass Road.
