Hawai‘i House of Reps accepting applications for 2026 legislative session

Ever wanted to know more about the inner workings of the state government? Do you want to help make Hawai‘i a better place to live and work? Would you like to assist your neighbors when they have questions or concerns?

If so, there might be a place in the Hawai’i House of Representatives for you.

Applications are now being accepted for various staff roles during the upcoming 2026 legislative session, AMONG THEM INCLUDING:

  • Legislative aide.
  • Committee clerk/researcher.
  • Program budget analyst.
  • Data-entry clerk.
  • Receptionist.
  • Service aide.
  • Support staff for remote hearings.
  • Legislative attorney.

Session staff positions are temporary and typically span from December/January through May each year, with salary ranges dependent on the specific position and relevant experience.

Comprehensive benefits such as health, prescription drug, dental, and vision insurance are available.

Hiring will take place in November and December.

It’s important to note that prior legislative experience is not required. People from diverse backgrounds are actively encouraged to submit their applications.
