Update: Flood advisory cancelled for Kauaʻi
Update 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 26: The National Weather Service has canceled the flood advisory for Kauaʻi.
Original Post: The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Kauaʻi until 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
At 5:25 p.m., radar indicated heavy rain over west and north Kauai. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour and a rise in water level has been noted at Hanakapiʻai Stream.
Some locations that will experience flooding include: Kekaha, Princeville, Kīlauea, Alakai Swamp Trails, Kokeʻe State Park, Na Pali State Park, Wainiha, Haʻena, Hanalei, Polihale, Mana, Barking Sands, Moloaʻa, Waimea Canyon State Park and Kalihiwai.
There may be minor flooding on roads, with poor drainage in areas and in
streams.
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding.
