The 12th annual ʻOhana FitFest, featuring a high-energy 5K obstacle and walk, will take place on Sept. 27 at a new location, the Princeville Disc Course on Lei O Papa Road.

“This isn’t just a race,” said Ken Rosenthal, event director and chair of the Health & Wellness Committee of North Shore Give. “It’s a celebration of community, movement and ʻohana,”

Residents and visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy a day filled with climbing, crawling and cheering, no matter your pace or skill level.

The obstacles are designed to be inclusive and fun, offering participants plenty of opportunities to encourage each other along the way.

All registered participants will receive a complimentary ʻOhana FitFest hat and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a range of prizes, including rounds of golf at Princeville Makai Golf Club, dinners at renowned local spots such as AMA Hanalei and Hyatt’s Tidepools, as well as tickets to the popular Anaina Hou Ahi Lele Fire Show.

Runners and walkers can link their registration to a team, with prizes for the Largest Team, Fastest Team and Team With Most Spirit.

The race also is a fundraiser. Since its inception, ʻOhana FitFest has donated more than $120,000 to support local health programs, including $20,000 last year to North Shore elementary schools.

“Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s a day to laugh, challenge yourself, and make memories — while backing programs that keep our keiki strong and healthy,” Rosenthal said.
