Public meeting about Hardy-Oxford waterline project along Kūhiō Highway set for Monday

The Kauaʻi County Department of Water will hold a public meeting on Sept. 22 in Līhuʻe regarding the Kūhiō Highway (Hardy-Oxford) Waterline Project.

The project involves the replacement of aging water main infrastructure to meet current water system standards, including fire flow requirements.

The impacted areas will be:

  • Kūhiō Highway from Hardy Street to Oxford Street
  • Poinciana Street from Kūhiō Highway to Jerves Street

The project will be executed in two phases, with the first phase beginning in October and the second phase starting in December.

The public meeting will take place on Monday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Department of Water Board Room at 4398 Pua Loke Street in Līhuʻe.

During the project’s working hours, there may be water service interruptions along with intermittent road and lane closures. Additionally, typical construction site occurrences such as noise, vibration and dust can also be expected.
