UPDATE: One lane closures ongoing for Papalina Road near highway in Kalāheo
Update at 10 a.m. Sept. 11: One-lane alternating traffic will be ongoing for a portion of Papalina Road today and tomorrow.
A detour is set up for motorists and the contractor, Cushnie Construction Company, Inc., have flaggers to help control traffic.
Expect land shifts from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m today (Thursday Sept. 11) and tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 12).

Original at 1 a.m. Sept. 3: Lane shifts are scheduled along a portion of Papalina Road in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway to complete pipe replacement and road repairs within the Kaua‘i County right of way.
Work is scheduled to start on Sept. 8 till Sept. 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting. The Department of Public Works is contracting with Cushnie Construction Company, Inc. to get the work done.
A detour route will be set up for motorists wishing to turn eastbound onto Kaumuali‘i Highway via Pu‘u Road and Hokua Street.
Motorists are advised to make arrangements to accommodate the necessary traffic modifications, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
