Kaua‘i County Department of Water notifies the public that water service will be temporarily shut down Aug. 28 in several areas of Kalāheo.

Affected areas include:
- Poʻohiwi Road.
- Mahiʻai Street.
- Keoki Place.
- ‘Ohana ‘Āina Place.
- Upper portion of Puʻuwai Road (including branching roads).
- Upper portion of Lae Road.
The shutdown is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. so crews can replace a pressure releasing valve, weather permitting.

Those located in the affected area are advised to prepare by taking these steps:
- Store enough water to meet your needs until water service is restored.
- Notify family, friends, tenants and neighbors.
- Make sure any faulty water heaters do not empty during the shutdown.
Updates will be posted on the Kaua‘i County Department of Water website.
