The County of Kauaʻi Department of Public Works and contractor, Earthworks Pacific Inc. (EPI), will fully close a portion of Wawae Road for repaving work from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Aug. 18 to 22.

Due to the landslide on Wawae Road, there will be no access to another route, and therefore, limited to no access to and from homes during the project. Those who need to leave for the day are urged to plan to leave before 8 a.m. and return at or after 4:30 p.m.

According to Public Works, the contractor will do their best to allow access at the top of each hour for 10 to 15 minutes.
