Recovery fair to emphasize community, connection and resources next month
The County of Kauaʻi will host an event to connect individuals and families with local support and recovery resources, raise awareness, and promote community healing next month.
The public is invited to the “Recovery Through Connections and Community” fair with Child & Family Services and other local community organizations from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, at the Historic County Building lawn.
“Recovery isn’t something anyone has to go through alone. It’s about community, connection, and knowing that help is out there,” said Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami. “Events like this remind us that there’s hope and support for those who need it, and that Kauaʻi takes care of its people. I encourage everyone to come out, learn more, and enjoy time together.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Connect with local organizations providing treatment, support, and recovery services
- Learn how to access help for themselves or loved ones
- Enjoy free, family-friendly activities such as rock painting, gratitude journaling, and meaningful bonding experiences
- Explore fire trucks and emergency vehicles on display during the event
No-cost activities will be available for all ages. For more information, contact Julie Kauakahi at 808-634-9308, or by email at jkauakahi@cfs-hawaii.org.
