Young Brothers continues to work with state and federal agencies to reopen facilities to the public and bring assets back statewide following the July 29 tsunami.

Here is an update about port location gate hours for the Big Island and Kaua‘i, as well as sailings for the remainder of this week.

Port locations

Gate hours

  • Port of Hilo: Open normal business hours.
  • Port of Kawaihae: Open normal business hours.
  • Port of Nāwiliwili, Kaua‘i: Reopened at 9:30 a.m. July 30

There are no changes to cargo acceptance at any ports statewide.

Honolulu to Kawaihae on Hawai‘i Island and Nawiliwili: Arrived on July 29

  • Barges arrived Tuesday, but because of the tsunami warning, not all cargo was discharged and no cargo was loaded back from these ports. Cargo not discharged will return to Honolulu and be reloaded on the next barge to these ports. Affected customers will be notified.

Updated information to changes to Young Brothers statewide operations will be sent via email, posted on its website and through the shipping company’s social media on Facebook and Instagram.

Young Brothers also encourages customers to sign up for email notifications.
