County officials remind Kauaʻi property owners that the first installment of real property taxes for the 2025-26 tax year is due next month.

Real property tax bills were mailed out on July 18, and payment must be submitted on Wednesday, Aug. 20, to avoid penalty and interest charges.

Payments can be made online, by mail, in person, or through the drop box located outside the Kapule Building at the Līhuʻe Civic Center. Checks must be made payable to the director of finance.

Appointments are not necessary to submit payments to the Real Property Tax Collections Section, which is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If owners have not received the bill, call the Real Property Tax Collections Section at 808-241-4272 or email rpc@kauai.gov.

Failure to pay real property taxes in full by Aug. 20 will result in a 10% penalty, as well as 1% interest per month. For more information, please visit www.kauaipropertytax.com.
