UPDATE: Gate installation near county Department of Water parking lot rescheduled
Update at 6:23 p.m. July 24, 2025: Construction work associated with the installation of an access gate near the entrance of the parking lot at Kauaʻi County Department of Water at the end of Pua Loke Street in Līhuʻe — originally scheduled July 25-26 — was rescheduled.

Road work is now planned for 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 1-2, weather permitting, and will still require temporary closures of the portion of Pua Loke Street involved in the construction, slightly limiting access at times to the county Water Department.
The public is advised:
- AUG. 1: One-lane closure in the construction area. Alternating traffic in both directions.
- AUG. 2: Full closure in the construction area. Access to the Department of Water drop box for bill payments will not be permitted.
Motorists and water customers should make the appropriate arrangements.
