Virtual Meeting Scheduled to Update Public on Waimea R-1 Recycling Water Project

The Department of Public Works, Wastewater Management Division is hosting a virtual meeting for the public to update the Waimea community on the Waimea R-1 Recycled Water Project.

The meeting is scheduled for Dec. 17, 2020, at 5 p.m. Anyone interested in attending the meeting may join by clicking here.

The meeting will update the community on the project, which will construct a new storage and distribution system to allow the Waimea Athletic Field to be irrigated using R-1 recycled water and conserve potable water. The meeting will discuss other places in Hawaiʻi that are using recycled water and the safety measures that will be implemented to properly use recycled water according to the State of Hawaiʻi, Department of Health, Wastewater Branch’s reuse guidelines.
