An opportunity to deepen your leadership skills is coming to Kaua‘i for the first time in October.

It’s a chance to level up in the practices of kuleana, kūlana, ʻāina and community. And the deadline to apply is less than 2 weeks away.

Honolulu-based Hawai‘i Leadership Forum — dedicated to developing, engaging and inspiring leaders to drive impact and catalyze positive change — is hosting its first Leaders Lab on Kaua‘i this year as the program expands throughout the islands.

Applications are now being accepted. Space is limited; between 15 and 20 Kaua‘i County residents will be able to participate. Deadline to apply is noon Aug. 1.

“The expansion of Leaders Lab reflects our commitment to supporting those already leading in their island communities,” said Hawai‘i Leadership Forum President AJ Halagao in an announcement about the upcoming lab. “By creating space to reflect, learn and grow, we encourage them to deepen their impact and help strengthen our collective future.”

Marissa Sandblom and Nicole Velasco will co-facilitate the event, engaging participants in collective learning, peer exchange and personal growth.

This experience marks the beginning of a 3-year journey with follow-up programming to continue building leadership capacity to address Hawai‘i’s largest challenges.

“Leaders Lab offers an opportunity that we don’t often prioritize in our everyday lives: time to step back, reconnect with what’s guiding us and think about how we want to act with greater purpose,” said Kaua‘i resident Sandblom in the announcement. “The ability to focus on true intention rather than getting lost beneath momentum and habit is rare — and it matters.”

Hawai‘i Leadership Forum’s Leaders Lab will be Oct. 28 at Hale Līhuʻe, located at 4286 Rice St., in Līhuʻe.
