Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures on state roadways for July 12-18

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Garden Isle during the week of July 12-18.

KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50)

PUHI TO KĪPŪ

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2 and 3, in the vicinity of ‘Ānonui Street and Kīpū Road, from midnight to 6 a.m. July 14-18 for cutting grass.

KĪPŪ TO KŌLOA

• SHOULDER LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4 and 6.79, in the vicinity of Pūʻuana Road and Maluhia Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 14-18 for soil boring.

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

• ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 2.9 and 8.7, in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and ʻŌmaʻo Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 13-18 for striping.

KŌLOA TO ʻŌMAʻO

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 7 and 8, in the vicinity of Kāhili Wai Street, from midnight to 6 a.m. July 14-16 and July 18 for cutting grass and shoulder clearing.

NĀWILIWILI ROAD (HIGHWAY 51)

NĀWILIWILI

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 0.9, in the vicinity of Waʻa-pā Road and Kāpule Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 14-18 for tree trimming and gutter cleaning.

KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560)

WAILUĀ

• TWO LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 14-18 at the Wailuā Bridge, between mile posts 5.6 and 5.9, for bridge repairs. One lane in either direction will be open at all times.

KAPAʻA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 9.5, in the vicinity of ʻAkia Road to Keālia Lookout, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 13-18 for resurfacing, concrete and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KAPAʻA TO KEĀLIA

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 10.5, in the vicinity of ʻAkoa Road to Kamole Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. July 14, 16 and 18 for cutting grass.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.3 and 1.2, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and ʻŌhiki Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 14-18 for pipe installation.

HANALEI

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1.5 and 2.5 (Hanalei Plantation Road and Papio Place) from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 14-18 for cutting grass.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the Hāʻena bound direction between mile posts 2.7 and 3.3 (Tahiti Nui and ʻAnae Road) from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 14-18 for paving and concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the Hāʻena bound direction between mile posts 2.7 and 3.3 (Tahiti Nui and ʻAnae Road) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 14-18 for paving and concrete work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAIKOKO

SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.3 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Trailhead, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the Hāʻena bound direction between mile posts 9.1 and 9.3, in the vicinity of Hāʻena Beach Park, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 14-18 for paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HALEWILI ROAD (HIGHWAY 540)

WAHIAWĀ

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1 and 2, in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 14-18 for cutting grass and fire break maintenance.

WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (HIGHWAY 550)

KŌKE‘E

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.0 and 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 14-18 for cutting grass and fire break maintenance.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4.6 and 11.5 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 14-18 for installation of best management practices, grubbing and clearing.
• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 6 and 7, in the vicinity of Kōkeʻe Road, from 6 a.m. to noon today (July 12) for tree trimming.
• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in either direction between mile posts 6.5 and 7, in the vicinity of Kōkeʻe Road, from 6 a.m. to noon today (July 12) for tree trimming.

KUAMOʻO ROAD (HIGHWAY 580)

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.1 and 4, in the vicinity of ‘Ohana Street and Hawaiiana Street, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 13-18 for striping and marker installation.
• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 3 and 4, in the vicinity of Pokukala Street and Hawaiiana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 14-18 for cutting grass.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 1.7 and 4, in the vicinity of Kahawai Place and Hawaiiana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 14-18 for striping and marker installation.
