Maluhia Road to be closed for community cleanup
Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works notifies the public that Maluhia Road, from Kaumuali‘i Highway to Ala Kino‘iki Junction, in Kōloa will be closed later this month for a community cleanup.

That portion of the road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 12.
Community groups will conduct an annual cleanup of Maluhia Road for Kōloa Plantation Days. Kaua‘i County Roads Division also will be present to cut grass and perform shoulder maintenance.
Traffic will be diverted to Kōloa Road during the closure.
The public also is reminded that ‘Ōma‘o Road is a narrow residential road and not intended to be used as a detour route; it is not designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic.
The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of Ōma‘o Road.
Motorists should allow for extra travel time as well as follow the speed limit and all traffic signs.
Electronic message boards will be present to inform motorists.
