Resurfacing work continues through Friday on Poʻohiwi Road in Kalāheo
Kauaʻi County Department of Water reminds the public that resurfacing work continues through Friday (June 27) along portions of Po’ohiwi Road in Kalāheo.

Crews are working on the resurfacing from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, weather permitting, as part of the Kalāheo Water Systems Improvements Project.
Poʻohiwi Road is a narrow road with limited to no shoulder areas.
Therefore, a road closure are being implemented in 50-minute increments on sections of the road as work progresses to allow residents access.
Access for local traffic will be granted during the following scheduled times:
- CLOSED: 8 to 8:50 a.m.; OPEN: 8:50 to 9 a.m.
- CLOSED: 9 to 9:50 a.m.; OPEN: 9:50 to 10 a.m.
- CLOSED: 10 to 10:50 a.m.; OPEN: 10:50 to 11 a.m.
- CLOSED: 11 to 11:50 a.m.; OPEN: 11:50 to 12:30 p.m.
- CLOSED: 12:30 to 1:20 p.m.; OPEN: 1:20 to 1:30 p.m.
- CLOSED: 1:30 to 2:20 p.m.; OPEN: 2:20 to 2:30 p.m.
- CLOSED: 2:30 to 3:20 p.m.; OPEN: 3:20 p.m. until next business day.
The access schedule is subject to change.
Motorists are advised to adhere to posted signs and flaggers. Expect it to take more time than normal to travel through the work area.
No parking is allowed along Poʻohiwi Road or near the intersection of Poʻohiwi Road and Puʻuwai Road.
