Ben Osorno named interim chief executive officer at Kaua‘i Humane Society
Kaua‘i Humane Society announced that Ben Osorno is now the organization’s interim chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Osorno brings almost 14 years of service to Kaua‘i Humane Society.
He began his career as an animal care technician before rising through the ranks as an animal control officer and department lead. His deep knowledge of shelter operations and strong, trusted relationships with staff and community members make him uniquely qualified to guide the organization through this transition.
“Ben embodies the mission of the Kaua‘i Humane Society,” said Kaua‘i Humane Society Board President Dan Giovanni in the organization’s annoucement about Osorno’s appointment. “He leads with compassion, experience and integrity. The staff, volunteers and animals of our shelter are in capable and caring hands. And Ben has the full confidence of the board.”
This leadership change comes following the voluntary resignation of former Kaua‘i Humane Society Chief Executive Officer Padraic Gallagher.
The organization remains focused on its mission to protect, shelter and promote the humane treatment of all animals on Kaua‘i. It continues to work with renewed strength under Osorno’s leadership, guided by its commitment to transparency, accountability and aloha.
