Equipment for a water pump station, that went down about two months ago in the Hanalei area, is finally on its way.

Kaua‘i County officials continue to ask residents in the Hanalei community and ʻAnini beach areas to conserve water to avoid a full water service outage.

The initial request to conserve water was issued April 4. The Department of Water secured a contractor to perform the repair at the pump station. The necessary components have been manufactured and are currently in transit to Kauaʻi.

Once these parts are received, work will commence.

Water conservation measures include turning off appliances and fixtures that automatically draw water such as ice machines and irrigation systems and refraining from car washing.

Weekly notices will continue to be provided via the Wireless Emergency Notification System (WENS), the County’s emergency notification system. To sign up, visit www.kauai.gov/KEMA and click “Notification Services.” Monitor service updates online at www.kauaiwater.org.
