Kaua‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation notifies the public that a portion of the parking lot at Black Pot Beach Park in Hanalei will be closed briefly this morning.

The closure — necessary for numerous pothole repairs near the park’s restrooms — is scheduled for 6 to 8:30 a.m. today (May 28).

Parks and Recreation thanks the public for its patience and understanding during the quick closure.

At least some community members had no problem with the impending closure and repair work, even welcoming it, according to their comments on social media.

“It SO needs to be scrapped. Thank you!” Betsy Lis wrote in reply to a Kaua‘i County post on Facebook about the closure and repairs.

“Thank you for fixing the parking lot!” exclaimed Sage Gauthier in reply to the same post.
