Kaua‘i County Housing Agency invites the public to the final community workshop for the Waimea 400 Affordable Housing Master Plan.

The workshop — scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria at Waimea Canyon Middle School — will provide residents with updates about the county’s progress for the entire Waimea 400 site.

A conceptual plan based on community input gathered during the first two workshops also will be shared.

Those who plan to come to the workshop are asked to fill out an online RSVP Google form and tell organizers how many people will be attending with them.

You can also sign up on the form to receive email updates about the project.

The presentation will be livestreamed on Hōʻike TV’s YouTube channel and available to watch for those unable to attend in person.

Meeting materials will be posted at the Waimea 400 project website following the workshop, along with an online collector form to gather public feedback.

The Waimea 400 Master Plan was published in January 2022. It lays out a conceptual design and preferred uses of 417 acres in Waimea acquired in 2019 by Kaua‘i County.

It is the culmination of knowledge, ideas and input from community members, agencies and resource partners. Affordable housing is proposed to comprise roughly 60 acres, located just west of Waimea Sunset subdivision.
