Full closure scheduled on Temporary Kapa‘a Bypass Road later this month
A full closure of the Temporary Kapa‘a Bypass Road (Route 5600) is scheduled for later this month to install new striping and paving markers on the newly paved road, according to Hawai‘i Department of Transportation.
The closure, between mile markers 0 to 1.0, will be from Kūhiō Highway to Olohena Road. The one-way southbound road will be closed on May 27 and May 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Traffic will be detoured to Lehua Street.
If weather conditions don’t allow for the work, it will be done the following week on June 2 and June 6.
Variable message boards will be posted. For weekly Kaua‘i lane closures, go to https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/kauai/
