Students, families prepare for Kauaʻi Community College commencement

More than 100 students will officially graduate from Kauaʻi Community College during its 99th year on Friday.

Students will be graduating from Kauaʻi Community College with Associateʻs degrees and academic certificates in accounting, automotive mechanics, business, creative arts, culinary arts, electronics technology, Hawaiian botany, Hawaiian studies, hospitality and tourism, initial early childhood education, liberal arts, mathematics and practical nursing.

The commencement ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. on campus behind the Performing Arts Center on Friday. Graduates can check in beginning at 2 p.m. before rehearsal at 2:45 p.m.

Graduates can park in a reserved lot near the tennis courts and there will be parking for the elderly and those with mobility limitations are available near the Carpentry Building.

Cell phones must be silenced and confetti and streamers are prohibited during commencement. Following the ceremony, family and friends can meet the graduates at the grass area in between the Performing Arts Building and the library.

Official diplomas will not be provided at the graduation ceremony. Semester grades are processed after the ceremony day, therefore, the conferring of certificates and degrees are provisional, pending verification that all requirements have been met.
