Missing toddler found after brief search on Nāwiliwili Road
A missing child was found safe Friday evening in Līhu‘e following a swift response from Kaua‘i first responders.
Personnel with Kaua‘i police and fire departments responded at about 5 p.m. April 18 to a report of a missing toddler near Nāwiliwili Road in Līhu‘e.
Kaua‘i Fire Department’s Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 and Kaua‘i Police Department’s drone team were deployed immediately to assist with the search.
Because of coordinated efforts between first responders and support from community partners, the child was located safely nearby with no reported injuries.
Kaua‘i Police Department extends its appreciation to Kaua‘i Search and Rescue, Hawai‘i Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement and public for their vigilance and assistance during the search.
