Scheduled Kaua‘i lane closures for Feb. 16-21

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation notifies the public about its scheduled lane closures for Feb. 16-21 on Kaua‘i.

In observance of Presidents Day on Monday, there will be no contraflow set up or lane closures unless otherwise permitted.

Lane closures can change at any time without notice. All projects are weather permitting.

Right lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 10, in the vicinity of Akemama Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for cutting grass.

KEKAHA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Right lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 24.37 and 24.46, in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor, for replacement of culverts. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane. Details: Click here.

LĪHU‘E (NIGHT WORK)

Right closure with lane shift possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1.9, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Anonui Street, on Tuesday, Feb. 18 through Friday, Feb. 21 from 1 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. for replacing raised pavement markers.

WAIPOULI (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction at mile post 7.9 between Pānihi Road and Kaloloku Road from 11 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Feb. 18-19 for traffic signal repair. Traffic will alternate through the open lane. Details: Click here.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 24.4 and 25.6, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and ʻAnini Vista Drive near the Princeville Airport, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Feb. 16-21 for cold planning and re-paving.

PRINCEVILLE

Right lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 26 and 28, in the vicinity of Ka Haku Road and ʻAnini Vista Drive, on Tuesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for cutting grass.

HANALEI TO LUMAHAʻI

Contractor will be painting guardrails at the following locations and dates:

  • Feb. 18 at mile post 6.
  • Feb. 19 at mile post 5.2.
  • Feb. 20 at mile post 5.
  • Feb. 21 at mile post 2.5.

WAIKOKO (24/7 CLOSURE)

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 4.3 and 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Trailhead, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. Traffic signal will control alternating traffic through the open lane. Details: Click here.

KŌKE‘E

Right lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for tree trimming.

Roving right shoulder closure possible in either direction between mile posts 5 to 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for grass cutting.

KŌKE‘E

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 11.5 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21 for shoulder stabilization, guardrail repair and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

WAILUA HOMESTEADS (NIGHT/DAILY WORK)

Right lane closure possible in either direction between mile posts 1 and 6 for grass cutting with the following schedule:

  • 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 18-21.
  • 2 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Feb. 18.
  • 2 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Feb. 20.
