Hawai‘i Pacific Health offers summer internship opportunities for Kaua‘i students
Hawai‘i Pacific Health is accepting applications for the 2025 Health Careers Summer Internship program.
The 6-week paid internship program is open to high school juniors and seniors as well as college students who want to get firsthand experience in health care.
Applications are due by 3 p.m. Feb. 21. The program runs from June 16 to July 24.
Students who are accepted will have a chance to intern at various Hawai‘i Pacific Health locations on Kaua‘i and O‘ahu, including Wilcox Medical Center and Kaua‘i Medical Clinic in Līhuʻe. Patient care and non-patient care internship positions are available.
More than 1,100 students have participated in the program since it started in 2004.
“The Health Careers Summer Internship is a great opportunity for students to explore the vast and diverse world of health care,” said Shanyn Kanemori, Hawai‘i Pacific Health manager of workforce development and compliance. “In addition to doctors and nurses, there are so many other professions that all come together to provide quality care to patients. This internship program allows students to learn more about these career pathways and get real-life experience.”
Students interested in an internship can apply online.
