Lane closures scheduled for parts of ‘Ele‘ele

One-lane closures are scheduled weekdays through next week, weather permitting, for parts of ‘Ele‘ele because of asphalt/concrete sewer work.

Crews with contractor Insituform Technologies will be working from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., affecting the following roads:

• ‘Ele‘ele Road, between Kaumuali‘i Highway to the intersection of Melemele Road and ‘Ele‘ele Road.
• Melemele Road, between the intersection of ‘Ele‘ele Road to Melemele Road.
• Portion of ‘Uli‘uli Road near Ula‘ula Road and ‘Ākala Road.

Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works encourages motorists to make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary closures, use alternate routes and allow extra time to reach their destinations.

Brief and occasional delays can be expected. Exercise caution and drive slowly when driving through the work areas.
