Update: Lane closures extended through end of January on Hulemalu Road in Līhu‘e
Update at 4:21 p.m. Jan. 16: Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works and contractor GP Roadway Solutions are notifying the public that lane closures along portions of Hulemalu Road in Līhu‘e as part of a guardrail repair and installation project are extended through Jan. 31.
Lane closures are scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays only, weather permitting.
Original post from 5 a.m. Jan. 8: The Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works and contractor GP Roadway Solutions continue guardrail repair and installation work along portions of Hulemalu Road in Līhu‘e requiring lane closures.
Work is progressing and will run 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays, weather permitting, through the end of this week and again Jan. 16-17.
Residents of the area and other motorists who need to use the roadway during work hours should make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary lane closures, use alternate routes and allow extra time to get to their destinations.
No parking is allowed in the work zones. Flaggers are present during work hours directing traffic.
