Check your mailbox for 2025 Notice of Real Property Assessments
Property owners on the Garden Isle should have received their 2025 Notice of Real Property Assessments in the mail beginning Dec. 1.
Officials strongly encourage property owners to review the entire mailing, and if there are any errors, contact the Kaua’i County Real Property Assessment office immediately.
Owners can also review property characteristics, values and historical information online, as well as access their assessment notices.
The notice provides critical information used to determine a property owner’s real property tax bill. It displays market value, assessed value, total exemptions, net taxable value and the tax classification.
If you disagree with the market value, tax classification, exemption amounts or property status, you have until Dec. 31 to file an appeal with the Kaua‘i County Board of Review.
A $75 deposit fee is necessary for each appeal filed.
If you have not received your notice by Dec. 15, contact the Real Property Assessment office by calling 808-241-4224, emailing rpassessment@kauai.gov, writing to or visiting the office at: 4444 Rice St., Suite A-454, Lihu‘e, HI 96766.
Additionally, review the 2026 Property Tax Relief Program updates included with your assessment notice, which contains important information regarding exemptions and filing requirements.
