Update: Salt Pond Beach reopens following water main break

The County of Kaua’i announced Sunday morning that  Salt Pond Beach Park is closed until further notice due to a water outage affecting the park’s facilities.

A water main break has been reported and officials anticipate an extended water outage to continue through today as repairs are being made, county representatives said in a 9:50 a.m. press release.

10:30 a.m. update: The water outage at Salt Pond Beach Park has been resolved, and the park is now open to the public. Water officials were able to isolate the water main break, and restore water to the park’s facilities, according to a county press release.
