Kōloa man held on $5K bail following theft of boat from Port Allen harbor

A 34-year-old resident of Kōloa is being held on bail after allegedly stealing a boat from Port Allen Small Boat Harbor on the southwestern shore of Kaua‘i.

Kaua‘i Police Department officers at approximately 2 p.m. Monday responded to a report of a stolen boat at Port Allen.

Witnesses identified the suspect as Joshua Aceret-Ipac, who was seen jumping off the boat before it was recovered, according to the police department.

Aceret-Ipac was arrested Tuesday for the offense of motor vehicle theft. He is now being held at the Kaua‘i Police Department cellblock with bail set at $5,000. The incident remains under investigation.
