Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

KŌLOA TO KALĀHEO

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 9.5 to 11.5, on Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass trimming.

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 12 to 16, on Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass trimming.

KAUMAKANI TO KAPALAWAI

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 18 to 22, on Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail repairs.

KEKAHA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile post 24.37 to 24.46, in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for replacement of culverts. Details here.

— KAPULE HIGHWAY/ RICE STREET (ROUTE 51) —

LĪHU‘E

Right lane closure on Rice Street (Route 51) in the northbound direction, between Ho‘olaulea Way and Mokoi Street, in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta driveway entrance on Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., for slope stabilization.

LĪHU‘E

Lane shift to shoulder on Kapule Highway (Route 51) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Ka‘ana Street and Rice Street, on Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 pm., for roadway striping.

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMAULU

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.78 to 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Sept. 30 through Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for sign installations and striping.

LĪHU‘E

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction, between mile post 3 to 3.7, in the vicinity of Marine Camp Road, on Sept. 30 through Oct. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass trimming.

PRINCEVILLE

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for drain line and storm manhole installations. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in the southbound direction, between mile post 1 to 2.5, on Sept. 30 through Oct. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass trimming.

‘ELE‘ELE

Right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) possible in either direction between mile post 0.81 to 0.67, in the vicinity of McBride New Mill Road and Quarry Drive, on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass trimming.

— WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (ROUTE 550) —

KŌKE‘E

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction, between mile post 11.5 to 14, on Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for repaving work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— KUAMO‘O ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

KAPA‘A

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Hawaiiana Road, on Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road reconstruction and resurfacing as part of the Kuamo‘o Road Resurfacing project.

— KAPA‘A BYPASS ROAD ONE-WAY SOUTHBOUND LEG (ROUTE 5600) —

KAPA‘A

Full closure of Kapa‘a Bypass Road (Route 5600) in the one-way southbound leg, between mile post 0 to .73, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Olohena Road on Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road repair. Details here.
