Kaua‘i lane closures for week of Aug. 24 – Aug. 30

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation has released its list of lane closures for the week of Aug. 24 through Aug. 30.

KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY

1) KŌLOA
Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 5 to 7.5, in the vicinity of Kahili Road and Kahili Wai Street, on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

2) ‘ŌMA‘O TO LĀWA‘I
Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 8 to 10, in the vicinity of Akemama Road, on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

3) KALĀHEO (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 10.73 to 11.06, in the vicinity of Kuli Road, on Aug. 25 through the morning of Aug. 26 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for roadway construction.

4) ‘ELE‘ELE
Center side pocket lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 15.91 to 15.93, in the vicinity of Waialo Road, on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for replacement and relocating of sewerline.

5) MAKAWELI TO WAIMEA
Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile post 20.6 to 22.3, in the vicinity of Paulaula Russian Fort Elizabeth, on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for guardrail clearing and grass cutting.

6) KEKAHA
Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction 24/7 between mile post 24.37 to 24.46, in the vicinity of Kīkīaola Boat Harbor, on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30 for replacement of failed culvert. Details: Click here.

RICE STREET

1) LĪHU‘E
Right lane closure on Rice Street in the northbound direction, in the vicinity of Hoolaulea Way and Mokoi Street, on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for slope stabilization in the vicinity of Royal Sonesta.

KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY

1) LĪHU‘E TO HANAMĀ‘ULU
Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping and sign installations.

2) HANAMĀ‘ULU (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK)
Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, between mile post 1.06 and 2.57, in the vicinity of Laukini Street and Kapule Highway, on Aug. 25 through Aug. 30, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.

3) LĪHU‘E (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway possible in either direction, between mile post 3.9 and 4.1, in the vicinity of Kaua‘i Beach Road on Aug. 19 through the morning of Aug. 26, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repairs.

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive possible in either direction between mile post 11.5 and 14, on Aug. 25 through Aug. 30 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for road widening and paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Hawaiiana Road, on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing.
