Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: Aug. 10-16

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for Aug. 10-16.

In observance of Statehood Day on Aug. 16, there will be no contraflow and no lane closures, unless otherwise permitted.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

KŌLOA

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between milepost 3.99 to 4.51, in the vicinity of Haiku Airstrip, on Aug. 12 through Aug. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for removal of a Eucalyptus tree.

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between milepost 5.1 to 5.3, in the vicinity of Kahili Road, on Aug. 15 through the morning of Aug. 16, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repairs.

‘ŌMA‘O TO LĀWA‘I

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between milepost 8.75 to 10.38, in the vicinity of ‘Ōma‘o Road to Kōloa Road, on Aug. 12 through Aug.15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the westbound direction between milepost 15.90 to 16.20, in the vicinity of Waialo Road and Hanapēpē Road, on Aug. 12 through Aug.15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sewer line crossing replacement.

HANAPĒPĒ TO KAUMAKANI

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between milepost 16.95 to 18.30, in the vicinity of Hanapēpē Road and Kaumkani Road, on Aug. 12 through Aug. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for shoulder grading.

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on Aug. 11 through Aug. 15, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for highway reconstruction.

PRINCEVILLE

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possilbe in either direction between milepost 26 to 28, in the vicinity of the Princeville Airport and Ka Haku Road, on Aug. 12 through Aug. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Aug. 12 through Aug. 16, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for slope stabilization work.

WAINIHA

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Ala Eke Road and Alamihi Road, on Aug. 12 through Aug. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for safety slope scaling. There will be 30-minute full closures at the top of every hour for rock scaling and debris removal. KŌKE‘E (WEEKEND/ NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction between mile post 11.5 and 14, on Aug. 11 through Aug. 16 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. for road widening and paving. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

— KUAMO‘O ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

WAILUA HOMESTEADS

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction, between milepost 0 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Hawaiiana Road, on Aug. 12 through Aug. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing.

WAILUA HOMESTEADS (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction, between milepost 1.8 to 2, in the vicinity of Kahawai Place on Aug. 13 through the morning of Aug. 14, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.

Right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction, between milepost 3.8 to 4, on Aug. 12 through the morning Aug. 13, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.

Right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction, between milepost 4 to 6.6, in the vicinity of Hawaiiana Street, on Aug. 12 and Aug. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass-cutting.

Right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction, between milepost 4.4 to 4.6, in the vicinity of Aina Pono Street, on Aug. 11 through the morning of Aug. 12 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for guardrail repair.

KAPAIA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Ma‘alo Road (Route 583) possible in either direction, between milepost 2.81 to 3.45, on Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for grass cutting and clearing trees and brush.

— KAPA‘A BYPASS ROAD (ROUTE 5600) —

KAPA‘A

Single lane closure on Kapa‘a Bypass Road (Route 5600) in the southbound direction, between milepost 0.76 to 1, on Aug. 12, in the vicinity of Olohena Road from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting. Road users are encouraged to use Kūhiō Highway to access Olohena Street.

WAILUA

Right lane closure on Kapa‘a Bypass Road (Route 5600) possible in either direction, between mileposts 2 to 3, on Aug. 14 and Aug. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to mowing banks.
