New sewer line installation scheduled for portion of ‘Ele‘ele Road

A portion of ‘Ele‘ele Road will be closed on weekdays starting Aug. 12 for the installation of a new sewer line.

The closure will continue from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. till Aug. 30. The road will remain open on weekends and holidays.

Ele‘ele Road will be fully closed from the intersection of Kaumuali‘i Highway to Melemele Road. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes and to expect brief and occasional delays.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area, which is narrow and near the homes of residents. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of the work area.

Work will be conducted by the Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works and Earthworks Pacific.
