Road closure scheduled in Kīlauea for resurfacing work

Road resurfacing work for portions of Oka Street from Kīlauea Road to the Oka Street cul-de-sac is scheduled for next week.

The Department of Public Works and its contractor Maui Kupono Builders will start work on July 31 to Aug. 2. The road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Access will be provided for residents in the area.

Motorists are advised to make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations.

During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.
