Expect lane closures on Maluhia Road through Thursday afternoon

Drivers may expect lane closures on Maluhia Road on June 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting.

Maluhia Road leads to Kōloa on the South Shore of Kaua‘i. It is well-known as the “tree tunnel” due to the impressive foliage shading it from the sun.

The periodic one-lane closures with alternating traffic will allow the County of Kaua‘i Roads Division to conduct vegetation maintenance and grass-cutting work.

Flaggers will be positioned at the ends of the work zone to direct traffic. Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra travel time when driving near the work area and follow all traffic controls. Exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area.
