Get rid of your household hazardous waste during upcoming collection events

Residentially generated household hazardous waste will be accepted free of charge at Kaua‘i County facilities on March 23 and 24.

Among the items that will be accepted are automotive products, lead-acid batteries, lawn and garden products, oil-based paints, thinners and stains, fluorescent lights, batteries and more.

The following locations will accept household hazardous waste on March 23, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

  • Kapa‘a Base yard, located at 4900 Kahau Rd., past the Kapa‘a Ball Park
  • Hanapēpē Base yard, located at 4380 Lele Rd., next to the Refuse Transfer Station

On March 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., residents can take waste to the following locations:

  • Kaua‘i Resource Center at 3460 Ahukini Road in front Līhu‘e Refuse Transfer Station
  • Anaina Hou Community Park (Kīlauea Mini-Golf), 5-2723 Kūhiō Highway

The following items are not accepted at household hazardous waste collection events: eWaste, propane tanks, medical waste, tires, used motor oil, fireworks, ammunition, flares and latex paint.

This event is for residents only. Material from Businesses, government agencies, non-profits, and farmers are not allowed.
