Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: Feb. 17-23

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for the week of Feb. 17-23.

In observance of President’s Day Monday, there will be no contraflow on Kūhiō Highway and no lane closures except where permitted. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.

All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

LĪHU‘E TO KALĀHEO

Roving right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between Rice Street and Makeke Road, on Tuesday, Feb. 20 through Friday, Feb. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for weed control.

KALĀHEO (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, beginning Monday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 23 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for storm drain installation and paving.

KALĀHEO TO KAUMAKANI

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile post 13 and 19, in the vicinity of Kaumakani Avenue, on Tuesday, Feb. 20 through Friday, Feb. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

HANAPĒPĒ TO PAKALA

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile post 17 and 21 in the vicinity of Lele Road, on Tuesday, Feb. 20 through Friday, Feb. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for shoulder grading.

OLOKELE

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction in the vicinity of Olokele overpass, on Tuesday, Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for bridge inspections at the Olokele Overpass.

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMAULU

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between Ehiku Street and Laulima Street, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 20 through Thursday, Feb. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for grass cutting and clearing of drainage swale.

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMAULU (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile post 0.7 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Monday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 23 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

LĪHU‘E TO WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between Leho Drive and Kuamoo Road, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 20 through Friday, Feb. 23 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for restriping.

KEALIA TO ANAHOLA (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Monday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

KĪLAUEA TO PRINCVILLE

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Ko‘olau Road and Princeville Airport, on Tuesday, Feb. 20 through Friday, Feb. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCVILLE

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Kalihiwai Road and Princeville Airport, on Tuesday, Feb. 20 through Thrusday, Feb. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Tuesday, Feb. 20 through Friday, Feb. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for debris removal and hauling of slope material. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI (NIGHT WORK)

Full closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) in both directions between Hanalei Plantation Road and Hanalei Bridge, from Monday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 23 from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for final work on Hanalei Bridge Repair Project.
