Candidate filings for upcoming elections open on Thursday

The Elections Division of the Office of the County Clerk will begin offering candidate nomination and filing services on Feb. 1.

Services are offered Monday through Friday during the regular office hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The deadline to file nomination papers is June 4, 2024.

Prospective candidates can file nomination papers at any time during regular office hours but are encouraged to schedule an appointment to ensure prompt and timely service.

For the 2024 Elections, the Elections Division will be offering nomination and filing services for the following offices:

• United States Senate
• United States Representative
• State Representative
• Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Kaua‘i Resident Trustee
• Prosecuting Attorney
• Councilmember (7 seats)

Before beginning the candidate nomination and filing process, prospective candidates are encouraged to visit the State Office of Elections’ webpage at www.hawaii.gov.elections to review information on the process.

Election officials cannot assure the accuracy of election information obtained through alternate means, so the public is urged to contact the Elections Division directly if they have any questions on material viewed on social media or related sources.
