Special Marine Warning issued for Kaua‘i County

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Marine Warning for the Kaua‘i Channel and Kaua‘i’s leeward and windward waters until 8:45 p.m.

At 6:47 p.m., showers were located along a line extending from 32 nm northwest of FAD Buoy J to 45 nm southwest of the southern tip of Ni‘ihau, moving east at 70 knots.

Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include FAD Buoy CK, FAD Buoy DK, FAD Buoy CO, FAD Buoy J, Port Allen, FAD Buoy WK, Makahūʻena Point and Ka‘ena Point.
