The National Weather Service issued a High Surf Advisory for the north- and west-facing shores of Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau on Monday afternoon.

The combination of a moderate-size, medium-period northwest and north swell both moving through the western island waters through Tuesday will increase surf heights along many northern and western exposures to advisory levels.

The High Surf Advisory is currently scheduled to remain in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Surf heights of 15 to 20 feet are anticipated along better exposed north shores, with surf 8 to 12 feet in height anticipated along western exposures.
