Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: Jan. 6-12

Hawai‘i State Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures on the Garden Island for Jan. 6-12. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.

All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

PUHI TO KŌLOA

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between Kikowaena Street and Maluhia Road, on Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and guardrail clearing.

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, on Sunday, Jan. 7 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for storm drain installation.

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMAULU (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile post 0.7 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold planing and paving.

LĪHU‘E TO HANAMAULU

Closure of the climbing lane on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the northbound direction between mile post 0.78 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, on Monday, Jan 8 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for repair of the truck climbing lane.

WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the northbound direction between Kuamoo Road and Kapaa Bypass on Thursday, Jan. 11 through Friday, Jan. 12 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for water valve repair.

KAPA‘A

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile post 9.0 and 9.52, in the vicinity of Kawaihau Road on Monday, Jan. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for construction of fire breaks.

KEALIA TO ANAHOLA (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for cold paning and paving.

KEALIA

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between Kealia Road and Ioane Road, on Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting and guardrail clearing.

KEALIA

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 12.2 and 12.8, in the vicinity of Ioane Road, on Tuesday, Jan. 9 through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for construction of fire breaks.

PRINCEVILLE

Single lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 28.11 to 28.12, on Monday, Jan. 8 through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI (NIGHT WORK)

Road closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) in both directions between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, nightly from Sunday, Dec. 7 through Friday, Dec. 12 from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for Hanalei Bridge deck replacement.

— KUAMO‘O ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

WAILUA (24/7 CLOSURE)

Single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) in the vicinity of the Opaekaa Falls lookout, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, until further notice.

— MALO ROAD (ROUTE 583) —

KAPAIA (WEEKEND WORK)

Right side lane closure on Ma‘alo Road (Route 583) possible in either direction between mile post 0.1 to 0.92, in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway, on Saturday, Jan. 6 from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. for cutting grass.
