Lane closures scheduled to begin this month for Olohena Road

Portions of Olohena Road on Kaua‘i will be closed for several months to accommodate for road widening and bridge work.

The single-lane closures in each direction, with alternating traffic, will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays beginning Nov. 14 and will last through April 14, 2024, weather permitting.

Bridge work will take place between Kamalu and Waipouli roads.

Motorists are urged to use alternate routes and expect brief and occasional delays during the lane closure and road work period. No work will occur during the peak traffic times for school drop-off and pick-up.

Exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area, which is narrow and near homes. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of Olohena Road.
