Kaua‘i weekly lane closures: Aug. 26-Sept. 1

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation has released weekly lane closures for Aug. 26 through Sept. 1. Lane closure schedules can change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 50) —

1) PUHI TO KOLOA

Right lane closure possible in either direction in the vicinity of Kikowaena Street and Puuana Road from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 28 through Sept. 1 for grass trimming.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (HIGHWAYS 56/560) —

1) HANAMĀʻULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction between Kuene Road and Kapule Highway from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 27 through the morning of Sept. 1 for road reconstruction and temporary striping.

2) WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure in the northbound direction between South Leho Drive and Wailua Bridge from 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Aug. 28 through the morning of Aug. 31 for sewer manhole rehabilitation work in the left-turn pocket at North Leho Drive. Motorist can use the left turn at south Leho Drive.

3) WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Center pocket closure in the southbound direction between South Leho Drive and Wailua Bridge from 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Aug. 31 through the morning of Sept.1 for sewer manhole rehabilitation work in the left-turn pocket at North Leho Drive. Motorist can use the the left turn at south Leho Drive.

4) WAILUA

Left lane closure between North Leho Drive and Kuamoʻo Road from 7 to 11 a.m. Aug. 29 along the Wailua Plantation Bridge. There could be 2- to 3-minute intermittent full closures of the bridge to allow sheet piles to be off-loaded with a crane safely.

5) WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapaa Bypass, for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements.

6) WAILUA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Two lane closure possible in either direction between Kuamoʻo Road and Kapaʻa Bypass from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 27 through Sept. 1 for lane smoothness grinding and striping work.

7) KAPAʻA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction in the vicinity of Wailua Alternate Road from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 26 for grass cutting.

8) KAPA‘A

Single lane closure possible in either direction between Wailua Alternate Road and Hauaala Road from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 28 through Sept. 1 for grass cutting.

9) KEĀLIA TO ANAHOLA (WEEKEND / NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction in the vicinity of Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 27 through Sept. 1 for paving and striping.

10) MOLOA‘A

Right lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 17 and 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 28 through Sept. 1 for grass cutting.

11) WAIKOKO (WEEKEND WORK)
Left lane closure in the eastbound direction between mile marker 4.2 and 4.3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 26for vegetation cutting. Two-way traffic will be maintained by contraflow through the open right lane.
