Lane, road closures in place on Pu‘uwai Road in Kalaheo for water system upgrades
Intermittent lane closures and a partial road closure of Pu‘uwai Road are in place through Sept. 4 in Kalaheo, weather permitting, as crews work on the Kalaheo Water Systems Improvements Project.
Excavation and waterline work is being conducted at the intersection of Pu‘uwai Road and Kikala Road and at the intersection of Pu‘uwai Road and Po‘ohiwi Road.
The public is advised to adhere to traffic control and flagger personnel at the following areas:
Partial lane closures will be in place on Pu‘uwai Road at the intersections of Po‘ohiwi Road and Kikala Road and from the north end of Pu‘uwai Road to Pu‘ulima Road. The lane closure are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Because of the narrow roadway, an intermittent road closure with access to local traffic only will be in place on Po‘ohiwi Road from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday.
A road closure is being implemented on Pu‘uwai Road from the intersection of Pu‘ulima Road to the end of Pu‘uwai Road 24-hours a day, seven days a week. This portion of Pu‘uwai Road is unpaved, without residential or commercial dwellings; therefore, no vehicle or pedestrian access and no parking will be allowed in the work zone. Road closure signs and barriers will be posted.
